Position Description
n
The Regional EHS Manager will provide full regional support to the operations team to ensure leadership and management of the safety program. To drive a consistent approach across all EHS activities on the Refresco regional sites. The Regional EHS Manager will drive forward the EHS management systems by influencing the management team, whilst working with the operations team to ensure compliance.

Essential Functions:
n
- n
- Leading and coaching a small team of EHS Managers to provide support to the operations team to ensure the leadership of a sound EHS program.
- n
- Play and active part of yield/waste reduction on site with the production team.
- n
- Technical support, advice and guidance to managers on HS&a;E legal compliance and best practice
- n
- Driving the Site Management Team to effectively implement the Safety Management System
- n
- Co-ordination of site EMS and Environmental Permit including:
Review environmental aspects and assist with the development of control measures, EMS &a; Permit documentation, control, and records, Internal Audit Schedule, undertaking audits and aligning on timely corrective actions, Environmental performance reporting for Environmental Permit, Undertaking BAT reviews in conjunction with Departments - nn
- Providing support, assistance, and guidance to Departments on:
Risk assessment programs, EHS audit and inspection programs, Development of HS&a;E operating procedures, Incident investigations - nn
- Management of EHS training programs, EHS audit schedules, EHS non-conformances and closeout, and PPE
- nn
- Management of Waste management including zero to landfill ensuring that optimal revenue is obtained for all waste created:
Maintenance of Waste Stream Matrix, Duty of Care records and audits, Liaison with waste management contractors, Equipment servicing and issues - nn
- Maintenance of HS&a;E KPI data including:
Accident statistics, Environmental Permit Annual Returns, Environmental KPI's - nn
- Liaison with Human Resources on Occupational Health matters

- Demonstration of behaviors to support the key nature of this critical role to the site.

Requirements

Education and
Experience:
n
- n
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field (or equivalent experience) plus five (5) years of management experience applying environmental, safety, wellness and programs required. Previous experience in leading a team is required.
- n
- Sustainability project/initiative implementation of EHS programs experience required.
- n
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
- n
- Previous experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is a plus.
- n
n
Required Skills and Competencies:
n
- n
- An effective understanding of Manufacturing technology and process and the HSE risks associated with an FMCG company.
- n
- Solid knowledge of HSE systems
- n
- Ability and commitment to drive change whilst working within teams
- n
- Understanding and awareness of ISO14001 and OSHSAS 18001 standards and the competence to coordinate effectively.
- n
- Ability to provide an education and training resource for all operators in key HSE tasks
- n
- Ability to understand the principles and processes of effective communication/presentation and when/how to apply them in all aspects of the role.
- n
- Understands the principles and processes of effective communication and how to apply them, also to understand how to give feedback in a way that enhances confidence and commitment.
- n
- Understands the principles of HS and Environmental auditing and how to conduct an incident investigation.
- n
- Understand how to collect and validate sufficient information on the effectiveness of HSE systems to make recommendations on improvement.
- n
- NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety as a minimum
- n
- Formal Environmental qualification e.g. IEMA Diploma in Environmental Management
- n
- Professional and confident individual who is comfortable challenging existing ways of working and has the tenacity, gravitas and influence to make change happen.
- n
- Enthusiastic, self-managed.
- n
- Have the ability to prioritize workloads and demonstrate excellent time management skills
- n
- Experience of working in a busy manufacturing and engineering environment.
- n
- ISO14001 auditor certified.
- n
n
Working Conditions:

- n
- Physical-Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
- n
- Visual/Sensory-This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
- n
- Work environment- Work and environment are very repetitive.

Climate:
This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work in ambient hot and/or cold seasonal environments.
